Requirements & Procedures

Requirements
18 years of age or older (there is no upper age limit!)
Have a high school diploma or GEDtranscript with proof of graduation
Have no prior felonies

Procedures
U.S. citizen or have a green card
F1 VISA Transfer Students in U.S.
International students who currently live in out side of U.S.

U.S. citizen or have a Green card

1. Meet admission criteria
Prospective student must be at least 18years of age and have one of the following documents; High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent. Diploma from outside the U.S will be evaluated by a national accrediting agency.
2. Fill out preliminary Questionnaire form
3. Fill out Initial Application and take the Pre-Entrance Exam TABE
You are required to pass this exam with the score of 75%. The fee for the exam is $20. Students will write and submit an essay at the end of exam, outlining why they desire a career in the nursing field and why they want to enroll in Central Nursing College’s VN program.
4. Financial Counseling
Prospective students need to offer proof of ability to finance the cost of the entire program. Students can apply for grant, loans and/or other aid, if necessary, to finance the program.
5. Essay and Interview with the Director of Nursing
The student will meet with director of nursing program for an interview. The interview will be conducted by appointment and will occur when all of the above application requirements have been meet.
6. Complete the enrollment packet for admission
You will receive the admission packet to fill out upon the approval of the director of nursing.
7. Titer shots and physical examination

Pass a physical examination which indicates students are physically able to perform as a vocational nursing student and a vocational nurse.
In addition to the physical exam, students must also have a negative PPD or furnish chest X-ray results.
Students must furnish proof of vaccination. If such proof does not exist, all vaccinations must be done again. (MMR an Varicella)
Students must furnish proof of Hepatitis B immunity. If such proof does not exist, the shots must be administered again.
Students must furnish proof of drug clearance in the form in urine test results. If such proof does not exist, the students will be subject to another urine test.
8. Live Scan/Background Check and Malpractice Insurance (NSO)
Submit Live Scan Fingerprints/background check information in order to establish clearance of a criminal background and an application and payment for Malpractice Insurance (NSO).

F1 VISA Transfer Students in U.S.

1. I-20 Transfer
Notify the current school that you are transfering your I-20. And submit ‘Intent to Transfer’ form.
2. Prepare required documents
Please see ‘International Students Requirements’. Plus, you need copy of I-94(if you have), Copy of I-20, Intent to Tansfer form, Proof of health insurance.
3. Acceptance

Upon acceptance, Central Nursing College issues Acceptance Letter, new I-20 and enrollment.
4. Entrance exam
Take the entrance exam(basic Math and English) with 75% or higher score.
5. Essay and Interview with the Director of Nursing
The student will meet with director of nursing program for an interview. The interview will be conducted by appointment and will occur when all of the above application requirements have been meet.

International students who currently live in out side of U.S.

2. Prepare all the requested documents.

3. I-20 and acceptance letter

We will evaluate the documents and will send you I-20 and enrollment package.
4. Apply F-1 visa
Apply to US consulate for F-1visa.
5. Deposit
Deposit minimum of 50% of tuition fee. Usually it will be wire transfer.
6. Entrance exam
